                                               Pre-Operative Instructions

Since your surgical procedure will be performed with a local anesthetic, we strongly encourage you to eat a regular meal the day of surgery. Do not fast.

You should be able to drive your car home after surgery. However, if you feel that you might be nervous after the procedure, you may want to have a relative or friend drive you to and from our office.

Since aspirin can prolong bleeding time, the doctor may recommend that you avoid products containing aspirin for 7 days prior to your appointment.

Certain herbal supplements can prolong bleeding time. Please inform the doctor prior to surgery of the use of herbal medications

Please remember that aerobic exercise and strength training increase blood pressure. This type of activity should be avoided for five to seven days after surgical treatment. This will help minimize post-operative swelling and discomfort. We also recommend you do not return to work the day of surgery

Most patients can return to work one to two days after surgery, unless the job requires heavy lifting or a great deal of physical activity.
