Single Tooth Replacement
When a single tooth is missing an implant is an excellent option for tooth replacement. Unlike traditional options, dental implants don’t sacrifice the adjacent teeth. Additionally, dental implants look and feel like your own teeth.
Procedure
Using local anesthetic, the implant is placed into the jawbone. Most patients experience only minimal discomfort after a single implant.
After the procedure, the implant generally requires three months to heal and for bone attachment to take place. In the interim, many patients wear a removable replacement tooth. Once the implant has healed sufficiently, your restorative dentist will place the permanent tooth onto the implant.
Maintenance
Diligent oral hygiene is just as important with dental implants as it is with natural teeth. Brushing, flossing and regular visits to the dentist are essential to the success of implants
