Multiple Tooth Replacement
Dental implants can look and feel like your own teeth. When several teeth are missing, implants are an excellent option. Dental implants don’t sacrifice the adjacent teeth like more traditional options. They can also eliminate the need for removable partial dentures. Fixed bridges anchored to dental implants are stable and restore both natural function and appearance.
Procedure
Using local anesthetic, the implants are placed into the jawbone. After the initial procedure, the dental implants will need to heal for a few months to allow bone attachment. In the interim, many patients wear removable replacement teeth. After the healing period, your restorative dentist will place the permanent teeth onto the implants.
Maintenance
Diligent oral hygiene is just as important with dental implants as it is with natural teeth. Brushing, flossing and regular visits to the dentist are essential to the success of implants.
